Tokyo: Denim, Graf and the City
Tokyo sets the scene. Denim, graphic layers and the details that bring a look together.
Outside, signs fill the frame and people pass in every direction. Inside the train, green hand straps repeat above the seats. Across both settings, two looks hold their own: Sound Clash denim in Navy/Blue and black jersey covered in white Graf.
This Tokyo story follows the clothes through a change of scene. A close portrait opens out into a street view; a jacket seen against the city appears again in a carriage. The photographs bring the whole look into view, then return to the details.
Denim on the move
The Sound Clash Denim Jacket and matching jeans make one continuous denim look. Graphic markings run across the navy and blue wash, while pale stitching draws out the pockets and seams. Together, the pieces have a different presence from a jacket worn on its own.
On the train, the jacket is seen close: collar, chest pockets, buttons and stitching. In the wider photographs, the denim reads as a complete silhouette. The setting changes the view of the clothes without changing the clothes themselves.
Graf against the city
The second look starts with the AOP Graf T-shirt. White lettering crosses the black cotton jersey, from the front of the body to the sleeves and back. It is a graphic that stays visible from more than one angle.
Worn with Vinnie Joggers, the tee sits above a relaxed black silhouette. The joggers use 360 GSM cotton, with an elasticated waist and drawcord. Here, the graphic top carries the contrast while the trousers give the outfit its shape.
A closer look
From a distance, colour and proportion come first. Closer up, it is the stitching, lettering and embroidery that catch the eye. The Chorus Bucket Hat in Black/Pink brings a smaller mark into the frame: pink Walé Adeyemi embroidery against washed cotton, worn above the Sound Clash jacket.
Back on the street
Two looks, brought together by the same graphic language. One runs through denim; the other across jersey. Tokyo gives each a setting, from the crowded street to the carriage in between.
